Google Haters

Last week, I was with the friends who are into internet marketing. I am new to making money online so I interviewed them regarding this matter for me to learn things that they are engaged with.

Do you know what I learned from them? Well, they simply hates Google. I asked them why, and they just told me that Google is playing God in the internet. They are trying to control all the things especially the traffic.

They showed me a lot of reasons to convince and they even told me that why should I wear my white hat when Google is there doing bad. The said, that I should play with Google or else, I will be left behind.

So, they're telling me to do the black hat method of getting traffic. But, I still don't have ideas what black hat is.

They told me building links of my own for my own blog is already a blackhat. This confused me because Sustines is also telling me that not all link building are blackhat like links coming from my own blogs, links coming from social bookmarking and links coming inside the blog.

Well, I think, they just misunderstood Google. I was reading few articles of Matt Cutts and we know that Matt Cutts is the main engineer who designed the search engine in fighting spams. Matt Cutts said that it was okay to build links from Social Bookmarking sites. So, if this is so, then it is not blackhat in contrast what my friends are telling me.

If I will base everything to the declaration of Matt Cutts and Sustines then I can say that as long as the source of link is relevant to the topic of my blog or webpages, then it can be considered whitehat. But course, I need to avoid things like exchange linking, irrelevant links and other things that are considered by many as unethical. I think, by doing this, I can stay in the safe side of the road.

New Google Algorithm Update Against the Farmer

Last week, Google announced that the new algorithm change of the Google search engine has been rolled out to the US searches. According to Google, the effect is not that large but 12 percent of the searches will be affected.

There was a report made by a traffic tracker of the websites that revealed that many huge websites like ezinearticles.com lost 70 to 95 percent of the traffic due to the said change of algorithm.

What does it mean?

The message is clear. Many big guys are affected. But if they are affected, I am sure, small guys are affected too.

But why are they affected?

Google in one of the blogposts posted on their blog, they said that those affected mostly are content farms. Saying content farms, it means websites that contain low quality content.

In other words, if you want to avoid the negative effect of the change in algo of Google, then you should provide quality content for the readers. This is the only remedy.

But of course, you need to continue the link building campaign. Remember the links back to your website is still considered by Google in ranking your website in the SERP. But just like what I already said on my previous blogposts, just make sure that the backlinks are with high quality.

Saying High Quality backlinks, it means that the link is coming from high PR websites. This is one of the important ingredients you need to have for your website.

So much for the day, thank you for reading this blogpost.

Do Follow Blog Commenting

I recently discovered that there are really blogs that allows a Do Follow link to the website of the commenter. These can of blogs can really be a source of backlinks to your blog. But there are things of course that a commenter should do so that his comment will stay on those blogs.

1. Avoid spamming the Do Follow blogs.

Commenting a nonsense comment to a blogpost can be considered by the blog's owners as spam. And when your comment is already considered spam, then I am sure that your comment will be deleted from the blog or will be marked as spam. And if your comment will be marked as spam, Akismet will automatically marked your future comments in any of the blogs as spam.

So, what should you do?

You need to read the blogpost and share your thoughts related to the blogpost. If possible, make your comment longer so that it will add up content for the blogpost.

2. Make the backlink quality.

Do not ever comment to a blog with different topic than the blog you are linking back. This is to make sure that the link back to your blog is quality. Remember that quality backlink is what Google is looking for and considering for your blog.

Artificial Backlinks

While reading the policies of Google, I learned that creating artificial backlinks in the purpose of increasing a website's Google PR is prohibited. Anyone who will caught by Google doing this will result to a penalty on the Search Engine Result.

In other words, the owners of the blogs or websites need to gain more backlinks for his blogs or websites but Google prohibit them from making artificial backlinks. Artificial backlinks are those links back to the websites created by the owner of the websites. So, the purpose of these backlinks is no other than to increase PR of the linked websites.

Getting backlinks for a website is really hard. Just imagine if you'll just wait for the other websites to put a link from their websites back to your website.

Matt Cutts said on his blog that one of the technique in getting backlinks is to build a controversy. But building a controversy over the blogosphere is again a very complicated thing to do especially like me who is not so good in writing.
